Clear-Span Buildings

Wall to wall, not a single post in the way.

Clear-span means exactly what it says: the roof carries itself from one wall to the other with no interior columns anywhere on the floor. That's not a cosmetic detail — it's the whole point. Every square foot is usable and re-arrangeable, because there's nothing to design around. Park a plane, run racking aisles, lay a basketball court, seat an event, or line up equipment however the work demands, then change it next year without touching the structure.

It's engineered with rigid steel frames — the heavy I-beams whose haunched shoulders at the eave let the building stand up with zero interior pillars. Narrower spans use lighter tapered or tubular framing; once you push past roughly 40 to 60 feet wide, a rigid red-iron frame is the engineered answer, and it's economical clear across the 40–120 ft range most buyers need. Beyond that, we'll be honest about where interior columns start saving you real money.

The clear-span lineup

Column-free buildings, sized to the span.

Set the clear width, the length, and the eave, and we engineer the frame to carry it. These are starting points — every clear-span build is quoted to your loads.

Know the span you need to clear?

The clear width drives the whole build. Tell us how wide you need the floor to be column-free and a specialist will spec the frame — tapered, rigid, or multi-span — for the best value.

Why column-free matters

What an open floor lets you do.

A column in the wrong place ruins a layout. Clear-span removes that constraint entirely — here's where an unobstructed floor earns its keep.

01
Aircraft hangars

An 80×80 clears a wingspan with nothing to taxi around — the classic case for a wide rigid frame.

02
Sports & courts

Basketball, pickleball, or a riding arena needs the full floor. Columns would sit exactly where the play is.

03
Warehousing & racking

Run pallet-racking aisles the length of the building and re-space them anytime — no posts dictating the grid.

04
Equipment & ag machinery

Combines, sprayers, and implements park and maneuver freely when there's nothing planted in the middle of the floor.

05
Event & assembly halls

Seat a crowd, set a stage, or lay a dance floor across an unbroken span — worship, weddings, expos.

06
Showrooms & retail

A wide open sales floor merchandised however you like, with sight lines a columned building can't offer.

Frame by span

The frame follows the width — here's how.

Clear-span isn't one thing; the frame changes as the span grows. Wider means heavier steel, which is why price climbs with clear width. Where each frame fits:

Spans & starting prices

How wide can a clear-span building go?

A single-span rigid frame can clear up to about 300 feet wall to wall, but the economical sweet spot is 40 to 120 feet. Past that, adding interior columns (multi-span) costs far less per foot.

The clear width you need drives the frame and the price. Search or scroll the sizes below, hover any one for what it fits, the SKU, and the price — then talk span with a specialist.

Wider clear spans mean heavier steel, so the price climbs with the width you keep open. We'll tell you where a column or two would save you money.

  • Wide rigid-frame span — hangar/arena scale
  • Light manufacturing floor with utility runs
  • Also great for trade-show staging.
Two ways to pay

Own it sooner, pay it monthly.

Smaller clear-span builds qualify for financing and no-credit-check Rent-to-Own; the very large spans are usually matched to conventional financing. A specialist will point you the right way.

Delivery & installation, included

Rigid frames, raised by a crew that knows them.

Wide rigid frames are heavy steel, so our crew erects them on your engineered, cured slab — poured to the anchor-bolt plan we provide. Narrow spans go up fast; the widest red-iron builds take longer and use a crane. Either way, the structure is on us.

  • Anchors for concrete, asphalt, or ground — included
  • Certified builds: engineer-stamped for your county's wind & snow loads
  • 12- or 14-gauge galvanized steel — carries our 20-year rust warranty
  • Factory-direct pricing with no middleman markup

We are building a barndominium and they delivered the shell on schedule. Our contractor said the framing was straighter than most stick-built shells he sees.

Loafing shed for the horses showed up exactly when they said it would. The crew leveled and anchored on uneven ground and didn't try to charge extra.

Hurricane-rated anchors and engineer-stamped drawings were ready when our county asked. Permit went through the first time.
